Denmark and the Danes are well known for their interest for Portwine, and on the 2nd of March the 9th edition of the Port Wine Fair in Roskilde (20 km outside Copenhagen) took place.
The fair is well-known for both the amount of high-quality Port Wines and for the high number of guests from the producers in Portugal. This year there were:
• 1.000 guest (tickets for a 2 hours tasting sold for 43 EUR)
• Approximately 375 different Port Wines to taste
• 48 different brands
• 20 guests from Portugal
The fair was once again a huge success, and the organizers have already announced the date for their 10-year anniversary fair in 2025 – it will be on the 1st of March 2025. The fair has its own website (www.portvinsmessen.dk) – soon to be translated into both English and Portuguese, and is organized by Ivan Madsen together with Anders Christiansen and Kim Christensen.
