Organized as a private, non-profit, apolitical association under the Laws of Portugal, the structure of governance encompasses a Capítulo, the General Assembly which nominates the Chanceleria, a five-person Board who governs the Confraria, as well as the Mesa de Vendores, who oversee the budget expenditure.

To accomplish its mission as a unique influencer with an innovative vision, at the same time defending of the best traditions of Port Wine, the Confraria welcomes into its organization members over the age of 18 years who unite in a community of Confrades and contribute to reinforcing and growing the reputation of Port Wine around the world. They are distinguished in two groups:

 

Efectivos

Members of registered Port Wine producers and shippers who are responsible for the making, promoting, and exporting of Port Wine, be they individual merchants, or directors and managers of companies.

 

Honorários

Persons or organisations who, by their deeds, reputations, or standing make a significant contribution to the image and knowledge of Port Wine.
